Hydrogen-Electric Cadillac Coming to the USA Market
Crossover Provoq Seat Five, 300 miles on fill-up
Can Mexico Jump on the Alternative Fuel Car Bandwagon?

Today, General Motors Corp. will unveil a hydrogen fuel-cell-powered Cadillac crossover concept vehicle at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. GM envisions the five-passenger Provoq going 300 miles on a single fill-up of hydrogen, getting 280 miles from hydrogen power and 20 miles from batteries. It would go from zero to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds and have a top speed of 100 mph.
The aerodynamic Provoq's hydrogen fuel cell would charge lithium-ion batteries to power one electric motor for the front wheels and another for the rear. The vehicle could also be the basis of a replacement for the SRX, a larger crossover vehicle powered by V-8 and V-6 engines, Cadillac officials said. The Provoq has a solar panel in its roof to power accessories such as the interior lights and audio system, the company said.
How come they don't sell these type of cars in Mexico?
-It's is clear the market in the USA is responding to 100 years of oil wars, dirty fuel...it's an old technology that no longer works. It's killing people in Iraq and making the air filthy along with a bit of dirt all over their face. They know it's time for a change and it's the market leaders know it.
Currently, Mexico has no program for alternative fuel cars because the national oil business Pemex is a staple of it's economy. Leaders will not kill that golden goose until the cost of killing it outweighs the cost of preserving it. In other words, Mexico won't do a darn thing until the pressure forces it to take action.
Their is NO grand vision from it's leadership when it comes to cleaning up the environment. They just don't have incentive. Oil in Mexico is money to the elite. The majority of the people in Mexico have not yet grabbed on to the "clean up the environment" vine.
While the neighbors to the North make their moves to transform their automotive industry from oil dependency to oil free over time out of necessity, Mexico will languish in the dirty oil cars for years to come. In the end, Global pressure and the people over time will force her collective hand and then maybe just maybe, we can breath easy and get out of this old technological quagmire that is the internal combustion engine car and it's dirty oil that pollutes our environment and our souls.
