Internet Access in Valle de Guadalupe (Baja Wine Country)?
Is There Internet Access in the Valley de Guadalupe, aka the Baja Wine Country? Well, I was thinking of moving out there and so I asked this important question. This is what I found.
Well as long as you have a phone line, you can get dial-up. Yeah, dial-up. Hey, this is a rural part of the area. But now, there is satellite access and that changes everything.
To find out the scoop, I contacted the top resident in the Wine Country and local Real Estate Agent,
Joann Knox of
Discover Baja Real Estate at
http://www.discoverbajarealestate.com and she says;
"I found someone who installs for $500. The service I have is $49.99/mo but they just came out with faster service for $79.99/mo. ... don't know the speed or any details yet. Mine is working good...consistent. ... hasn't gone out yet...knock on wood!!!! It could be faster so I am looking to upgrade. The person that installs them is checking on using VOP with the faster speed. Seems to me that upgrading to the fastest is is the way to go. I will definitely upgrade very soon."
"A phone here would be wonderful. I can't even get a land line without putting in 6 poles. There is DSL in certain areas. I was told it would reach here but the technician said no! But, I believe it works down in the town and along the highway. I was told there is only one tower and it does not reach very far. But, the good news is that this is brand new so I'm sure now it will be expanding into other areas of the valle. My friends stayed out here last week and they were able to use their Blackberry!!!!" says Joann.
